Blackhawk Technical College
The Dental Assistant Program prepares graduates to work with dentists as they examine and treat patients. Dental Assistants with documented skills also may carry out a variety of laboratory, clinical and office duties. Some dental assistants manage the office and are responsible for patient scheduling and bookkeeping functions. Graduates receive a technical diploma and are eligible to write the certification examination of the Dental Assisting National Board. As a student in BTC s Dental Assistant program, you ll have the advantage of learning in our state-of-the-art lab facilities and in a program that is highly regarded among area dentists. You ll be trained in the latest skills needed to carry out a variety of laboratory, clinical and office duties at a private practice or dental group. BTC Career Services helps students explore careers, prepare for the job application process and find current opportunities. BTC offers resume writing, mock interviews, job search techniques, and internships, when available.
Blackhawk Technical College provides free tutoring services to credit students enrolled at the college. We offer online, open lab and peer tutoring. Also counseling services are available.

Refunds are processed according to the Wisconsin Technical College System Refund Policy for program, material and activity fees. To receive refunds, you must formally request refunds from Registration and Records by notifying them of your intent to drop a class(es) or completely withdraw from all classes. Requests for refunds must be received during the same term of enrollment. Refund requests are time-sensitive as each day that passes may affect the amount of refund you are eligible.

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
